SUTT: Annie Proulx’s Short Story “Brokeback Mountain”

Quill%20PenIf Annie Proulx had created a customizable TypeTribe focus group targeting people with human emotions, she would have let somebody be happy at the end of her short story “Brokeback Mountain.” So much yearning and so little happiness! Of course, I say this tongue-in-cheek, because it’s a beautiful story and probably wouldn’t be nearly as famous if it wasn’t so heartbreaking.

Still, I like somebody to be at least a little happy at the end. Should’ve used TypeTribe.
